DIY: Vegan eye make-up remover

If you’ve ever looked into how many household products have been tested on animals, or contain animal ingredients, you’ll know what a disheartening experience it can be. Finding cruelty-free beauty products can feel like a daunting task, but there are many solutions out there, and once you know where to find them, you can shop soundly. Another option of course, is to do it yourself. Replace those bottles full of chemicals and mix up something in a little more of the way nature intended. It’ll save you hours of searching for that leaping bunny logo and probably several pennies too!

DIY Vegan Eye Make Up Remover
Prep time:
Total time:

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp witch hazel
  • 2 tbsp almond oil (other natural oils will work, such as jojoba, coconut or olive - have fun experimenting and see which you prefer)
  • 2 tbsp filtered water
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients into a container of your choice (it’s recommended that mixes of essential oils are kept in amber-glass bottles to prolong their life)
  2. Shake well before using each time (you’ll see the mixture separates quite easily, as water and oils do naturally)
  3. Wipe over face and closed eyelids using clean hands or cotton pads. Say hello to your new all natural, homemade make up remover!
